We are called out of Egypt by God as believers. However the adversary wants us to be in Egypt. Here is what God called us to do.
Exo 7:16 – And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Moses and Aaron asked Pharaoh to leave let the Israelites go.
25 – And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.
Now Pharaoh says, “Aha, you want to sacrifice to your God? Why don’t you do it here in Egypt..” Or “Go ahead, go and have celebration and sacrifice to your Lord right here in Egypt.”
The spiritual truth here is that to many of us Satan tells, “Serve the Lord, and Serve the World” Or “Worship the Lord and Live according to the patterns of the world”
Here is how Moses replied to that:
26 – And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?
27 – We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.
Well, God calls us to serve Him or the Baal. Otherwise its an abomination before the Lord. All our religion will be in vain. No one can serve two masters. Either he will love one and hate the other and vice versa.
Now Pharaoh speaks again, after Moses says that they must go out of Egypt and worship the lord.
28 – And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
The enemy tells, “you can go, but don’t go very far. In other words, goto church, pray, read the Word, but don’t get so deeper in it.” Or “Don’t enter into a deeper relationship with God, all you do is, just have a hi – bye kind of relationship.”
The truth is, ‘If you don’t go very far, you may have a heart to come back’.
Next pharaoh says to leave the children and women and only let the husbands go and worship the Lord.
God wants you and your household to be saved. Just because your parents / spouse is a believer does not qualify you to enter heaven. The passover lamb is for the whole family. One family, one lamb – meaning, the whole family comes under the grace of God. God wants the entire family to serve him – the father, the mother and the children. Joshua confessed, ‘As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.’
Pharoah again says, you can go with your men, women and children, but leave the cattle behind.
Satan wants to rob you of your riches, blessings and God-given wealth, so that as you lack that, you may get disheartened and may turn back to Egypt.
However when the Israelites stepped out of Egypt in obedience to the Word of the Lord, God did a mighty wealth transfer that day, from the Egyptians to His children.
8 – And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
9 – And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
Moses is the perfect example, of how a person can leave Egypt for the better good. At the time he left Egypt, he was a prince. He was considered Pharaoh’s son. He had the Egyptian, wealth, riches and comfort. He could have ignored his fellow Israelites and could have continued a royal life.
Instead he left them, and came to the wilderness to take care of his uncle’s sheep. All this because of his trust in God.
24 – By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 – Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 – Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 – By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 – Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 – By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
Finally everybody – ‘Every single human being’ has this calling of God, out of Egypt.
Even God called Jesus out of Egypt, as it is written “I have called my son out of Egypt”.. Though Jesus never sinned, this was symbolic of our calling out of Egypt as He was.
Everybody has their own Egypts. So you can decide to come out of your egypt and stay out of your egypt by :
- Worship God after leaving the Egypt. – No two masters.
- Going far with God into a deeper relationship
- Worship him with your household. Don’t yoke with unbelievers.
- Worship him and rebuke the devil that’s stopping your blessings.
- Like Moses, be truthful in your decision and action to follow Christ. You will be rewarded.
